Meet Vicki, weekly winner of our #TravelThrowback contest, avid traveler and adventure-seeker! A lawyer-in-training, Vicki still manages to keep up an amazing blog and encourage others to make time to see the world
“I love to actively explore wherever I go and try everything a place has to offer- from museums, temples and wineries to hiking, bungy jumping or skydiving. I just love discovering what makes a place great and don’t put any limits or categories on the things to do. I find it hard to be still though, so beach days are a little rare and I often think I should try a yoga/meditation retreat as an absolute contrast to my usual travel style – but I like to be on the move and make sure I fit everything I want to do in, in whatever time I have. Travel is a privilege and I won’t waste a second of it.
For me travel is all about the experience – and everything that I do on a trip contributes to that. Be it doing amazing things, tasting amazing food (in a good, bad or interesting way!), meeting amazing people and experiencing amazing sights sounds and feelings. Even the not-so-great things that happen still make a trip amazing because it reminds me that real life isn’t all beautiful sunsets and happy times, but it is still a life I am very lucky to live.”
Our #TravelThrowback contest runs through the end of March, so be sure to keep submitting for your chance to win a trip to San Francisco! Just post your favorite #TravelThrowback photo and tag @getmagpie and #getmagpie. Find out more here.
